Asteroid Burger v1.1 Release Info


Hey folks!
It's been just over a week since Asteroid Burger launched. so far people seem to be enjoying it, which is awesome. Thanks for all of your support so far, whether it was testing the game, buying the game or sharing it around, every bit has helped a ton. =)

I've been working away on some things I felt would improve the game a bit. So, version 1.1 is finally ready for release to all of you, however if you notice anything that doesn't look right, or acting weird please feel free to email me at hgconcept.art@gmail.com, thanks!

Below is a list of changes, note that not every change is in here, it's mostly the big stuff.
v1.1 Change log:

Gameplay:

- A box now outlines enemies who have taken a food crate, to make it easier to take them out before they get away with your precious hamburgers.
- Enemy speed when stealing hamburgers is slower, for the same reasons as above.
- Enemies now correctly have an electrical energy particle effect when stunned by the particle cannon.
- Enemies now take 3 times damage while stunned by the particle cannon.
- Enemies now correctly show up in front of the mothership.
- Mothership no longer spawns infinite enemies if alive when game over occurs.
- Mothership now correctly has electrocuted effect like other ships.
- Mines now have a special explosion effect when they blow up.
- Replaced 3D camera with an Orthographic camera. (This has been an issue since I began working on it, I thought a 3D camera would allow for some cool parallax effects, but because the camera never ended up moving there's no payoff, and only extra complication. This will allow me to do some things in the future, like mouse input, and maybe more resolution variety).
- Miss messages no longer spawn if (A) there is another miss message that hasn't been rebounded yet. (B) A hit has occurred from a shot that was taken after the missed shot, but before the miss occurred (Since it would be rebounded anyways).
- Score values now include comma spacing, to make it easier to read.
- The value of the individual credits the Mothership drops have been lowered to be in line with other ships.
- Added a delay system to transmissions to avoid having the box obscure the screen constantly.
- Added a delay system to various voices to avoid overlap, and to limit the consistency of voice lines being used.
- Camera shake has been reduced even further over time, to avoid crazy shaking when a lot is going on.
- Customers now fade into the background when served. This prevents a food bag from hitting a customer who was already served, especially if it's on top of a customer that hasn't been served yet.
